Trinidad
Just checking my mental health. You are dealt the following South hand: [hv=d=n&v=n&s=sa3htdaj54ckt7654]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] The auction starts: West North East South - Pass 1♦* 2♣ Pass Pass Dbl Pass Pass Rdbl Pass ?? * Opponents play 10-12 NT and 5M, 1♦: 4+, 1♣: 2+ 1) Agree with 2♣?2) What now? gwnn
2♦. partner is promising a 4-4-4-1 initially, in which case 2♦ is by far the best spot.
mich-b
1. Agree with 2♣.2. Now 2♦. This may very well be our best fit. If partner wanted me to choose only between the majors, he will redouble again.
gwnn
mich_b or he could bid 2♥ don't you think?
Hanoi5
The suit is really ugly for 2♣, but I would have bid, too. I'm passing now though.
mich-b
mich_b or he could bid 2♥ don't you think? I think that would show both majors , but with longer (or maybe better) ♥s , maybe 6-5. With equal majors, I would expect him to Rdbl.
karlson
I'm not really sure what partner has yet, but I suspect I'm very happy he chose to run. Don't see any reason not to bid 2♦.
Fluffy
2♦ what else? I think I was happier in 2♣ but let's see

Trinidad
The full hand: [hv=d=n&v=n&n=sjt65hk982dkq962c-&w=s974hj7653d-cqj983&e=skq82haq4dt873ca2&s=sa3htdaj54ckt7654]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] I was North. My partner was South and sat for 2♣XX which went one off. He was convinced that I would have both majors. When I said that if I didn't have clubs and I couldn't stand diamonds, I should have so many cards in the majors that he shouldn't be worried about them, he was still not convinced. Rik
Fluffy
standing on an SOS redouble is kinda the worst thing a partner can do towards partnership confidence. You can forget about conventions and partner won't care as much as telling him that he is wrong without even knowing his hand.

kenrexford
If you bid 2♦, and if partner actually has both majors and short diamonds, I bet he can come up with a solution for that problem.
Free
Partner asks to bid another suit, 2♦ it is...
