rebid with Good 6cH

Well OK but what does 2 promise besides that you would like partner not to pass? In particular, how strong a 1 suiter could it encompass? Could you post some structure here? (am I opening pandora's box? :P)

I like bidding 3 on this type of hand. The downside of course is that a) partner has to be aware this is what a 3 jump can look like, and :P you need another way to show a really bid hand with six hearts since 3 is limited. I have the luxury of doing that while playing Polish, but not in SA or 2/1.

@gwnn: I'm going to guess that OP is playing Gazzilli here, which does indeed free up all the jump rebids to cover the 14-16ish shapely hands.

@ Siegmund: if you had read some kgr threads about his methods you would know better than assume that he plays something standard (here by standard I mean something played by more than 1000 players) :P

It is only forcing because you use 3 as a splinter.

So basically 2 is the same as standard, but it is forcing instead of almost forcing.

No. (I don't know Gazzilli, but I don't think that we play it.

<!-- ONEHAND begin --><table border='1'> <tr> <td> <table> <tr> <td> Dealer: </td> <td> South </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Vul: </td> <td> ???? </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Scoring: </td> <td> IMP </td> </tr> </table> </td> <td> <table> <tr> <th> <span class='spades'> ♠ </span> </th> <td> xxx </td> </tr> <tr> <th> <span class='hearts'> ♥ </span> </th> <td> AKQxxx </td> </tr> <tr> <th> <span class='diamonds'> ♦ </span> </th> <td> x </td> </tr> <tr> <th> <span class='clubs'> ♣ </span> </th> <td> ATx </td> </tr> </table> </td> <td>  </td> </tr> </table><!-- ONEHAND end -->

1-1

??

You play a rather standard system here, (only special is that you can bid 2 forcing)

Assuming your subject line is a question, yes!

2 or 3

not quite enough for 3 IMO

Won't partner take another bid with 10-11 over 2H?

What am I missing? Good suit to be trumps if partial, partner upping most 10+ hands if game.

yes, bu he will pass with eg 2 aces?

Are you really suggesting bidding 3NT over 3 with that, rather than 4? That hand is a perfect reason to rebid 2, you will go plus instead of minus.
