Perhaps an easier one this time.

You are South in 6H and west leads a club.

You see:

[hv=d=n&v=n&n=sakjt3haqjdaj2ca5&s=s62hk6542dkt843c3]133|200|Scoring: Rubber

Lead low [/hv]

YOu win the lead with CA and play AQ of trumps and RHO throws a club on the second trump.

Plan the play.

J, cross to K, draw the last trump. AK.

If both follow on both rounds of spades, I'll lead the J, discarding a , and I'll take 4s, 5s, 2s and 1.

If s are 5-1 or 6-0, I will have to fall back on the finesse for my 12th trick.

Aside:

If hearts had been 3-2, I would have been better off ruffing a club at trick 4, then playing on in spades, trying to endplay someone into leading diamonds or giving me a ruff-and-sluff in clubs, right?

If you overtake the J instead of playing a small one to the K, I think you can improve your chances of getting 4 tricks if the don't break. Then you can get 4 tricks whenever they are 3-2 or RHO has 4.

Have I missed something ? unless diamonds are 5-0, this is a spread. LHO has the trumps, so I'll cash dummy's third heart and run J towards him.

If diamonds are 5-0 either way round I may have to take the spade finesse or ruffing finesse, but otherwise this is over.

If RHO covers the J with the Q and s are 4-1 either way?
