Please provide the most probable result after East opens 1♠ and you either a) passb) doublec) bid 2♥. Please do a cross imp result like: a-b:a-c:b-c: (a-c means the imps a wins over c) Thanks :) Please try to do all 30 hands also :)
helene_t
a: 3♠. ♦ and ♣ switch, +50. b: 4♠x, +300c: 4♠x, +
aguahombre
"Scary" hand just won't go away :D What Helene said, plus: A: minus 6 to b and cB: plus 6 to a, push to cC: plus 6 to a, push to b For all 30 hands - much too lazy. awm
a: 1♠-P-2♠-P-4♠.b: 1♠-X-2♠-X-4♠. I don't really see this being doubled. c: 1♠-2♥-2♠-4♥-4♠. Again, I don't see the double. What exactly happens to 4♠ depends on the defense. Heck, I would've opened 4♠ on the east cards. Down two seems pretty normal as there are several chances to switch to a club before it's too late. a-b = 0 IMPsa-c = 0 IMPsb-c = 0 IMPs Are there really people who open their good seven card suits at the one-level, hear partner raise, and then don't bid game? Fluffy
I think besides Adam others are wrong, on a diamond lead you have 9 tricks in spades since the defence is unable to cash the third club you only lose 1 trick on each suit. A: forcing NT sequence leads to -140B: Adam's sequence +50C: I might fancy a 4♦ fit bid and reach the 5 level. Also I might do a dreaful ♥A lead followed by a diamond switch. There are many risks lurking here, -200 average A-B: -5 IMPsA-C: 1 IMPB-C: 6 IMPs
Codo
A 1♠ 2♠ 4 S all pass -1 +50B 1 ♠ X 2 ♠ 3♥ 4 ♠ 5♥ pp 5♠ X -2 +300C 1♠ 2 ♥ 2 ♠ 2 NT 4♠ pass pass 5♥ 5♠ X -2 +300 I really think that people tend to overcompete much in w/r so I cannot see E/W let N/S play 5 heart despite the fact that this has no play at all. shyams
Agree with awm. 4S will be bid on all hands, and no doublesIMO 5H will not often be bid. And it could get passed by E/W A push for zero IMPs
jdonn
a. 1♠ p 2♠ p3♠ ppp+50b. 1♠ X 2♠ (bad raise) 3♥4♠ p p Xppp+300c. 1♠ 2♥ 2♠ 4♥4♠ p p Xppp+300 Maybe east would bid 4♠ on the first but NS already aren't competing, and if game is on an invite should get you there. The second and third seem really normal, can't believe awm thinks north wouldn't double 4♠. a-b: -6a-c: -6b-c:

Dirk Kuijt
I'm with awm. I get to 4♠, not doubled on all auctions. N/S just can't expect 5 of a red suit to make or be a paying sacrifice, especially when there is such a good chance to beat 4♠.
