Please provide the most probable result after East opens 1♠ and you either a) passb) doublec) bid 2♥. Please do a cross imp result like: a-b:a-c:b-c: (a-c means the imps a wins over c) Thanks :) Please try to do all 30 hands also :)

awm
a: 1♠-P-2♠-3♣-P-3♥-All pass. Down one, -100.b: 1♠-X-2♠-3♠-P-3NT. Making on a spade lead, +600.c: 1♠-2♥-2♠-3♣-P-3♦-P-3♥-All pass. Down one, -100. a-b = -12 IMPs (-700)a-c = 0 IMPsb-c = 12 IMPs (700) The double improves north's hand substantially, to the degree where he can force game opposite a spade card since the clubs are a huge trick source. On the other auctions, north does not know about a club fit and his hand is a lot worse opposite a fairly likely singleton from partner. Fluffy
I wouldn't be as agreesive as adam, I think 3♣ playing lebenshol is enough with north's hand althou its close. A: 3♣ +110B: 3♣ +110C: 3♥ -100 A - B = 0 IMPsA - C = 5 IMPsB - C = 5 IMPs

shyams
agree with awm on a and bFor c., I'd guess that if the sequence begins as awm said i.e. (1S) 2H (2S) 3C; (P) 3D (P) now North could try 3S and reach 3NT again. a-b = (12) IMPs (-700) to N/Sa-c = (12) IMPs (-700) to N/Sb-c = 0 IMPs (---)

Dirk Kuijt
I end in 3♣ a lot a1♠-p-2♠-3♣p-p-p b 1♠-X-2♠-3♣p-p-p c1♠-2♥-2♠-3♣p-p-p flat at +110 The questionable one to me is b; is 3♣ adequate over a double?
