Hello, this is the fourteenth thread in the big poll. Please provide the most probable result after East opens 1 and you either

a) pass

b) double

c) bid 2.

Please do a cross imp result like:

a-b:

a-c:

b-c:

(a-c means the imps a wins over c)

Thanks :) Please try to do all 30 hands also :)

a: 1-P-3 (inv) - A/P. +50.

b: 1-X-2-A/P. -90.

c: 1-2-A/P. Down two, -200.

a-b: 4 IMPs (140)

a-c: 6 IMPs (250)

b-c: 3 IMPs (110)

The play in a diamond contract is sort of interesting, and it's probably possible to make three by guessing the hearts correctly. But I'm not convinced this line would actually be taken at the table. Against 2, the defense is to cash two diamonds, diamond ruff and overruffed, and a heart through with south winning the ace. Now south has to lose two more hearts, a spade, and a club.

A:1-p-1NT-p-2-X-all pass

B:1-X-2-all pass

C:1-2-3!-p-3- all pass

A= -180

B= -90

C= -110 (bad lead from south)

If south happens to bid 2 once in a while with this ttrash I guess north won't raise to 3 as I would wiht my partner.

a-b= 3 IMPs

a-c= 2 IMPs

b-c = -1 IMP

a. 1 p 1NT p

2 p 3

+50

b. 1 X 2 (diamonds) X

2 ppp

-90

c. 1 2 X p

3 p 3 ppp

+50

I find this one a little unfair to double since EW could stop in 2 after south passes except I'm having them play bart. I don't think west is worth an invitational 3. Nonetheless there you have it.

a-b: +4

a-c: 0

b-c: -4
