jillybean
I'm trying to take heed of Frank Stewarts advice - pass
helene_t
none vul at MP we want to play 1NT. Under other circumstances I would bid 2♣ as I like to have a slightly better hand for 1NT.

phil_20686
I would never bid 1NT with this hand, i dont think its good enough, and positive scores are always good. Plus if i bid 1nt the auction might not die and partner will never know to compete to 3c or not. Ill just bid 2c. Also, 1NT probably exposes teh spade stopper, it will go spade through dummy and a diamond back through my stopper. I really dislike 1nt quite a lot. I am probably closer to passign that bidding 1nt, my hand is defensive and 1nt tends to discourage bidding when i would quite like to defend 2d or 3d. eyhung
Agree, 2♣ is standout action here. Really hate pass -- neither side is vulnerable at MP, where the side who declares an undoubled partial almost always ends up doing well, and you are asking to get blown out of the auction when LHO raises to 2♠ or rebids 1NT. Don't like 1NT, you have no spots and your stoppers rate to be flimsy given the positioning of your high cards.
P_Marlowe
Hi, 2C. I wont Pass. So it is either 1NT or 2C, since I have a min. for the call, and my stopper is not really good, 2C. With kind regardsMarlowe
gnasher
Ten years ago I'd have bid 2♣ without thought. In some partnerships I still would, but for most people a takeout double of diamonds no longer says anything about the club suit at all. 1NT. nigel_k
2♣. Minor suit partscores are underrated and 1NT is really not attractive as it doesn't figure to play well and we'll be poorly placed if they raise spades or rebid diamonds and partner has clubs. whereagles
1NT. It's matchpoints eheh
Fluffy
if you bid 1NT the bidding continues this way support double, pass, pass to you
Siegmund
I wish I had another point for 1NT, but I probably bid it anyway. When the suppX-pass-pass comes back to me, I retreat to 2♣, and make a mental note that my opps are good enough to have discussed the meaning of that double and to judge when to leave it in. Jlall
I'd pass
Codo
I can bid 2 club because my partner seldom doubles with a 4432. Opposite most random BBF posters I would try 1 NT and later pass the double.
whereagles
Over 1NT doubled I bid 2♣ lol.
jdonn
I would pass, doesn't quite measure up for any bid.
Fluffy
2♣ was the big winner: [hv=n=sk10xhjxxxdj9caqxx&w=saxxhxxxdak32cj10x&e=sqjxxxhak10d10xxcxx&s=sxxhqxxdq8xxckxxx]399|300|[/hv] the field used roudi or xyz and stopped in 2♠ on our table after a support double over 2♣, east had no way to invite except bidding 3♠ and he went for -50 and 86% MPs for us. If you run from 1NT X It is not very clear where everything is gonna end.
aguahombre
2♣ was the big winner: Hmm, does that mean when partner makes a takeout double, taking it out sometimes works?
