Fluffy
good!, enough for bidding 1♠ and probably 2♥ later
Old York
Opponents have both passed, that is very good Tony
aguahombre
As the Puppy says, you are starting to like your hand. But as he implies, this is not the time to do anything about it. A 1S rebid is fine, now. My partners do not pass 1/1/1 (more than once, anyway).

rduran1216
is nobody tempted to bid 2S?
effervesce
is nobody tempted to bid 2S? No, 2♠ is a gross overbid as it is game forcing jump shift. The hand is far too weak to force to game. A typical jump shift has 18+HCP, showing sufficient strength to play in game opposite a minimum hand. This hand has only 13. If partner has a minimum 6HCP hand with only 4 hands, you're going to go many down in game. If partner has something like AKQJ in diamonds and AQ hearts there would be no stopping partner from bidding slam either.
mich-b
A simple 1♠ now. No reason to get excited , especially if you play Walsh style , and your pd might hold ♥Jxxx and ♦KQxxx.
Codo
No 2 ♠- even if this is no overbid in your system, this makes it much harder to reach your possible heart fit.
Old York
is nobody tempted to bid 2S? I would need a very much stronger hand to be tempted to bid 2♠At the moment, your hand looks like 16-17. This is not enough for game if partner has 6hcp As I suggested earlier, your opponents have both passed. What does this imply? There is a good chance that partner has a good hand, and will know what to do after your simple 1♠ rebidDo not force your partner to bid. Trust him and listen to his rebid, he is highly unlikely to pass Tony
