Nothing is easier than this!

Bundesliga (real football) is back :) FC Bayern has won and it makes my evening bad :)

@Fluffy >>> Gomez showed it 6 times tonight >>>>how-to-be-alone-in-front-of-the-goalkeeper-and-not-to score

ok, football time is back! 2 playoff games Saturday, and 2 Sunday! I like the Colts to win big, the Vikings to win & cover, the Jets to lose and cover, and Cards to pull the upset of the weekend.

Yes....best nfl football of the year now....

btw some might think some are betting on some of these games...given some of these last posts.

Of course I would be shocked..shocked that a bridge player might ever gamble.

ummm, we are! Moderate yourself.

ps. Bet against Warner at your own risk.

Actually thinking of going a little moneyline, too, but I'm taking the points. The Charles Grant (DE) injury (tricep; out for season) will be felt by the Saints.

i don't know how much of an upset it would be considered, although vegas likes the saints

as far as the injuries, yeah grant's out but people who follow the saints (like me) know that their defense started playing worse when their starting corners were out for that 6 or 7 week stretch... it kept williams from calling the D plays he likes and it kept sharper from doing what he does best... they're back now and i expect to see the saints of earlier in the year... i'm personally worried more about the offense, they've looked out of sync for awhile now

your bet isn't lost quite yet, i sure hope g. williams doesn't change his game plan now that warner is out... if he plays more coverage rather than his aggressive type D, leinart will pick them apart - of course it won't matter if the saints keep scoring

The sun shone into the Rhine water while I walked at the bank of the river this afternoon. As usual I have not found any signs for the Gold der Nibelungen.

Damn Hagen, where did you hide this treasure!?

I cheered me up with the globet of the gold..... pilsner in the old tavern at the riverside.

No more water cooler for Brian and Andrew:

I suspect I am not the sole victim of Internet-induced "present self bias." ... watching my own and others' present versus future self struggles, I worry that the Internet may impose a "survival of the focused," in which individuals gifted with some natural capacity to stay on target or who are hopped up on enough stimulants forge ahead, while the rest of us flail helplessly in some web-based attentional vortex.

From Brian Knutson's essay Hijacking the future self which appeared recently on Andrew Sullivan's blog.

I like beer

It makes me a jolly good fellow

I like beer

It helps unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow

(Makes him feel M-e-l-l-o-w.)

Whiskey's too rough

Champagne costs too much

and vodka puts my mouth in gear

So this little refrain

should help me explain

as a matter of fact

I like beer.
