ggwhiz
it Happy birthday comrade! Belated happy birthday and this one brought back memories. I did a stint with an NGO is South Africa in 97 and heard 2 of the kids say blah blah "comrade" turned around laughing cause I thought it was funny only to find out they were serious. Meanwhile back off topic the mantra for curling and a Benjamin Button life are the same. Hurry, hurry HARD! :P
mike777
Happy B-day Ken! Off topic but I wonder if any of our European forum members ever ate at Noma in Copenhagen?
Aberlour10
Off topic {fixing it] but I wonder if any of our European forum members ever ate at Noma in Copenhagen? I did not. What is the secret behind being World's No1? at Noma, in Copenhagen, where chef René Redzepi pursues a doctrine of "if it ain't Nordic, I ain't cooking it." Nothing goes on the menu unless it comes from the Nordic region: Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Denmark (including Greenland and the Faroe Isles) and Finland. That means a lot of basics that your bog standard Michelin-starred chefs fall back on - olive oil and olives, garlic and tomatoes and various herbs are completely out of the equation 2 Michelin stars without using tomatoes? I think, the Finnish tomatoes are the answer to my opening question.
jjbrr
I watch very little TV, but I try not to miss anything with Anthony Bourdain in it. I'm a big fan of his CNN show, and the NOMA episode was pretty good, as was, of course, the El Bulli episode when he was still on the Travel Channel. paulg
off topic but a serious question. When a company makes a great building spending millions/billions. Does that mark the high water mark of a company?I feel that most people in IT would be a lot richer if they'd sold their stock options when the company decided to have its own, purpose-built, new headquarters rather than wait for the building to be completed. I certainly would.

kenberg
This morning the temperature is 0 degrees F, and they supply a wind chill correction to -22. In the summer, when the temperture is 80, they supply a humiidty correction to get it up to 90 or so. Hey! This definitely is not Intelligent Design. In the winter we need a correction upward, in the summer we need a correction downward. Dear Designer, please correct this error.
