A couple, Pat and Phil, are coming over for dinner tomorrow. Pat was talking to Becky, my wife, and mentioned that she will not be drinking any coffee or tea tomorrow. The reason: She is having a (routine) mammogram and the doc said she should not have tea or coffee for at least ten days before. Wine is OK (whew!) and nothing was said about Coke so it seems that caffeine is not the issue. I don't know if herbal tea is OK. She is not having any surgery or anything like that, just a routine mammogram.

Seems bizarre to me. I am prepared to believe most any restriction for a day or so before, even if I don't understand the purpose, but ten days? Any thoughts on the reaon for this?

No, I will not be nagging her to have some tea. It just seemed so strange. I thought I would ask if this is something that everyone but me knows about.

Constance tells me that, although she does not have the problem herself, some women find that consuming caffeine causes enough breast tenderness that routine mammograms cause pain. In such a case the doctor advises the woman to refrain from caffeine for a few days before the exam. Sounds like Pat has that situation.

A dinner topic?

Ah ha. Pat has no idea why but if in the past she complained of pain this would make sense.

I will now happily get off the topic of women's breasts.

My wife is really impressed, or something, with the tidbits I pick up here. This will be another addition.

back to life  :)  after  highway crash

!!!

It;s not so bad as it maybe sounds...I have had an accident on 9th Aug, but the injuries were not very serious, so I hope, I can leave the hospital in 7-10 days :)

Today's first try in net was of course >>>>login to BBO, but it fails and fails and fails here :P :)

How about 1-hit wonders?

Aberlour10 wins in a landslide and I hope you get off the dl in the minimum time.

Molly Hatchet "Flirting with Disaster" has a play.

The Headpins, "Don't it make you feel" is really cheesy but appeals to me.

I must protest...Molly Hatchet charted numerous times. Great band.
