Rock and roll jeopardy for 100 Alex:

How many number one hits did CCR have?

No you cannot look up the answer on google.

What is a trick question?

They had zero #1 hits on the U.S. Billboard charts. They did have some in other countries/on other charts, but I can't find how many.

I actually knew the answer before using Google to try to found out how many they had outside of the US. The local radio station does a trivia contest each morning and this was one of the recent questions.

davey moore is the other boxer, great song.

Correct! Davey Moore, "The Springfield Rifle," world featherweight champion, killed in the ring at the age of 29. Bizarrely, another world champion named Davey Moore was killed tragically OUTSIDE the ring, a week short of his 29th birthday. He sort of ran himself over; his car lurched forward when he got out of it while it was running, to open the garage door. He was still active and had won his two most recent fights, but is probably best known for losing maybe Roberto Duran's last great performance.

Greatest rock&roll song? its impossible for me to choose... I was the typical new-wave-kid in the 80's .....till I got in my hand by a chance the old Led Zeppelin II album... I played it and thought: wow! I listened to the "Whole Lotta Love" and said WOW! I think, that song has biased me mostly ever...

stop it! how come? you are all talking about the same thing! :)

I'll take "American Music That Fluffy Has Never Heard Of" for 2000, Alex.

American music, with the exception of country music, is very very known in Europe, much more than american sports (and politics/geography), but behind american movies.

However I have problems with songs released before I was born :).

I don't know about greatest (certainly should be up there) but likely one of the most often played (for obvious reasons)

Stairway to heaven.

+1 for Stairway

The Hendrix cover of All Along the Watchtower is right up there, as is Aerosmith's Dream On. I'd put Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath on the short list, too.

Strongly disagree with Mike about Hurricane; I think it's Dylan's best. I'd probably like it even more if I thought Carter were innocent.
