y66
Economists typically use a value per statistical life of $6 million. So, for instance, when trying to decide whether the benefits of a government program outweigh the costs, the benefit per life saved is calculated as being worth $6 million. If one person dies for every 1.6 million miles driven drunk, and the value of a life is $6 million, then the cost in extra deaths per mile driven drunk works out to be about $3.75.Source: Steven Levitt

Winstonm
Listen, I'm not an expert on this subject, but I'm pretty sure we can find a way to blame it on Dick Cheney.

Al_U_Card
In the interest of equity and fairness, whenever the opps bid 7NT, we should be allowed to bid at the 8 level. :) The purpose of a sacrifice is to go down less than the value of the opp's contract, is it not? :)

Aberlour10
In the interest of equity and fairness, whenever the opps bid 7NT, we should be allowed to bid at the 8 level. :) Historical rumors say, only Stalin was allowed to bid 8c save in this case. Its pretty sure that Berja and Molotov did not dare to double it :)

jjbrr
This thread is a great idea. With that said, Santa got me a wok for Christmas. I know a lot of you are baller cooks with some baller recipes (paging Hrothgar). Aside from the obvious idea of throwing a bunch of meat and veggies into hot oil and stirfrying with sauce and such, does anyone have any recommendations of ideas or recipes or pro tips or anything I might find useful? I've never used a wok, and my parents never used woks, so I'm more or less going by instinct. In fact, I may start another "what should i do for dinner this weekend" thread, with the wok as the central focus of my plans. Please respond.
