gnasher
doh, East has an obvious 3NT balancing bid :) stoppers? who needs 'em :) Aren't you also missing the solid suit and side aces that one would normally use to justify the lack of a stop? Yes, but what can you do? Pard rates to have some balanced 12-14 and opposite that I'd like to try 3NT. I guess I could invoke hamman's 3rd law: "when 3N is an option, bid it"
hanp
I would also pass, but considered 3NT. 4C bidders should join the Croatian mailing list.
OleBerg
...but what's keeping pard from taking the bid too seriously?Good agreements. What do you agree, to never hold a 23 count? That would be a good beginning. :D I do believe that hands that merit a gutsy 3NT far outweigh those 23-counts. Of course bidding can get you to high, but passing can get you to low.
pooltuna
...but what's keeping pard from taking the bid too seriously?Good agreements. What do you agree, to never hold a 23 count? What's funny is how much of a hurry so many of the passers are to bid 3NT over partner's ROX
Fluffy
I would also pass, but considered 3NT. 4C bidders should join the Croatian mailing list. I found this cruel, but couldn't stop laughing anyway :D
gnasher
What do you agree, to never hold a 23 count? No, you agree not to cater for the possibility that the overcaller has a 23-count.
