whereagles
I'd prolly splinter and then show the void with 4♠. Not sure if it's best, but it certainly is playable.
ArtK78
I hate splinter bids with voids. Of course, if your splinter bid SPECIFICALLY shows a void, then this is the hand to use it. Bidding 3♠ and then following it up with club cue bids gets us to the 4 level before cue bidding starts. I would start with 2♣ followed by a diamond raise. I should be able to get the information that I need after that start. An inverted diamond raise is not a bad idea, either, but I believe that I will get more useful information by bidding 2♣ first unless I have a very good structure over the inverted raise. By the way, after a 2♣ response, and possibly after an inverted raise, it should be possible to stop in 3NT when it is right. For example - partner holds AKJT KQT9 xxx xx. Your point was interesting because, with little/no discussion, I'm more confident in followups after 1♦ 2♦ than 1♦ 2♣, which I often find to be a difficult auction.
