GIB CC as played on BBO

I believe GIB expects superaccpts of Jacoby transfers to include a side doubleton. You bid the doubleton, unless it's the transfer suit, in which case you jump to 3 of responder's major. I haven't checked to see what it thinks bidding 2NT over the transfer shows (maybe that's the superaccept without a doubleton).

BBO Today includes an article titled "New Bridge Robots Released". The article says "this new version features a comprehensive redesign of GIB's Roman Keycard Blackwood rules". Does this mean that bids now mean different things than they previously did, or that GIB now uses different internal standards to determine whether to use or continue with RKCB?

The categories are:

0-2 cards

3-card

4-card = 4 with poor honors

biddable = 5 cards, or 4 with 4+ HCP or QJTx

rebiddable = biddable + another card

twice rebiddable = rebiddable + another card

strong rebiddable = twice rebiddable with 8+ HCP

solid 6-card = AKQTxx or better

solid 7-card = AKQxxxx or better

solid 8-card = AKJxxxxx or AKxxxxxxx (there are 7 x's)

has anyone ever done a full disclosure card for GIB?

I've just discovered Robot Bridge, seems like an interesting idea, tried a couple of games, AND . . .

I cannot figure out what kind of system it's playing. Yesterday my robot partner was playing 2/1 with forcing NT (that's what it said in the little box when it bid 1 NT), tonight I got one that had no system, no judgment and lied about its HCP. Is there such a thing as a novice robot? Anyway . . . the description says "ACBL GCC applies." I suppose that's referring to an ACBL convention card, but what does the "G" stand for?

I really need to figure out what's going on or I'm not going to throw away any more money and time.

As I said before, it does seem like an interesting idea, but not if it has me pounding the desk in frustration.

OK, I found the convention card. Hate it. I'll skip the robot bridge unless someday I have the option to skip conventions I detest.

Good luck to you all!

I think that this linked document should be updated to include a definition of "relay points" where it discusses HCP and total points.

For those unfamiliar, relay points are A = 3, K=2, Q=1, supposedly used to improve accuracy of judgement in slam bidding but used by GIB in explanations of bids in a load of situations where no slam is on the horizon

Look,1 is no explanation, obviousely, bid explanation is lost, not really "no explanation".

I suspect this may be related to the problem mentioned in other threads, where GIB is giving totally incorrect explanations that seem to be based on different auctions. We're still investigating this.

What version of BBO are you using when this happens? Windows download app or the web version?

As I mentioned in another thread, it looks like the problem is that your connection to our servers is too slow. The client doesn't allow very long to get the response to the request for an explanation. We're investigating solutions to this.

Yes,my connection have been so bad and unstable recently (same are too many chinese players actually),sometimes faster, sometimes very slow.

Based on my observations,I think it seems likely that the reason is unstable network. For example:

[hv=http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?sn=lycier&s=SKQ53HK765DK64CAK&wn=GIB W&w=SA9742HDJ9532CQJT&nn=GIB N&n=SHT98432DQTC98632&en=GIB E&e=SJT86HAQJDA87C754&d=e&v=b&b=10&a=1C(Minor%20suit%20opening%20--%203+%20%21C%3B%2011-21%20HCP%3B%2012-22%20total%20points)1N(One%20notrump%20overcall%20--%202-5%20%21C%3B%202-5%20%21D%3B)P2D!(Jacoby%20transfer%20--%205+%20%21H)P4HPPP&p=CQC2C4CKS3S2H2S8H3HAH5D2DAD4D5DTD8D6D3DQC3C5CACTDKDJC6D7SKS9H4S6C8C7H6CJS5S4H8STC9SJH7S7HKD9H9HJSQSAHTHQ]499|350[/hv]

While I need log time to get response,I never have seen any bid without explanations.

For this hand, when Gib N bid 2 quickly,I also click 4 rapidly, however no explanations even though fast connection.so connection instability may be a main reason.

which by the way GIB's physical CC doesn't list as playing systems on over 1N after a 2 overcall (which it does) just has after double

There are several inaccuracies in GIB's convention card that have been pointed out in this forum that have never been corrected or updated.
