jdonn Posted November 30, 2009 Report Share Posted November 30, 2009 As for the heart lead, it might be right, but I would also worry that partner would feel obligated to lead a heart into declarer's AQ, instead of a normal lead like ♦JT8x or many others. I lack the ace or even touching honors, is that really enough for a lead director with clear strength on my left? The heart lead into declarer's AQ is fine, it was always onside for him anyway. And if either other player has either the ace or the queen then you have gotten partner off to a productive lead. Sure, but if dummy has a stiff then he wasn't taking the finesse. Or maybe he needs dummy's only entry for something else. etc .. why give it to him for free?
