Quantumcat Posted November 12, 2009 Report Share Posted November 12, 2009 It makes lots of sense to play transfers after all interference of partner's 1-suit opening: you can make both negative free-bids and forcing bids at the same time with none of the drawbacks of negative free-bids but all of the benefits. And when you have a normal forcing bid, you get extra room, as well as the overcaller usually being on lead against the final contract.
