dcohio
Playing 2/1 you are dealt: [hv=d=n&v=n&s=sa7432hkq9843dqtc]133|100|Scoring: MP[/hv] Bidding has gone: 1♠-(p)-2♣-(p)2♥-(p)-2NT-(p)3♥-(p)-4♥-(p) Partner most likely has some wastage in clubs, but is showing 2 or less spades and 3 or more hearts. Likely distribution is 1=3=4=5. Would you bid 4NT (1430) here? Partners hand (hidden): J,A72,AJ74,AKJ52; Ending in 6H, what is your line vs the K of spades lead? aguahombre
unless partner has dogged it by not making a stronger move after 3H, you can imagine a trump lead and not enough tricks for slam. Your hidden example is not the "hand from the auction".
jdonn
I open 1♥ not 1♠. Your hidden hand is not a 4♥ bid. It's way too good!
Jlall
I would pass lol.
Phil
Partner (hidden): has an easy 4♦ call. I would pass 4♥ and do not consider it close.
kenrexford
I bid my hand wrong, but I got lucky that it worked out OK. Now, partner is denying a diamond control. so, we will lose the first two diamonds. So, I pass. Dummy hits, and partner has nothing like he said he had. But, somehow I placed the 6♥ card on the table instead of a green card and must play it. Spade King lead?!? That's really weird, especially with the Jack on dummy. So, I'll guess that LHO has at least KQ109 in spades. So, why no trump lead? I guess I'll cater early to hearts 4-0.
dcohio
I open 1♥ not 1♠. That was another thought of mine, did I open correctly here? I didn't want to open a heart, because I wasn't strong enough to reverse to spades and show my spade suit.

By LTC, you have a five-loser hand, counting the Q10 of diamonds as worthless. That's not so bad. Opening 1♠ is not terribly wrong, though, IMO. Partner not bidding 4♣ is, though. 4♥ is a denial bid. Phil
Now, partner is denying a diamond control. Not for me.
aguahombre
i like the pattern 4D over 3H, and not just because the 5-6 hand is void in clubs. It doesn't deny a club control in our style.
the hog
Ope 1S and not 1H of course. Pass on the given auction and ask partner where the hand he bid is..
kenrexford
Now, partner is denying a diamond control. Not for me. Well, true. Partner either lacks a diamond control or lacks any interest in slam.
