fred
We heard a report today from a user who is having trouble getting the BBO Windows client to run properly under Windows 7. The "free upgrade" to Windows 7 that was supposed to come with a computer we bought recently is taking longer than expected to arrive so we have not had a chance to try this ourselves. Has anyone out there tried this combination? If yes, I would appreciate hearing about your experiences. TylerE
I've been running BBOWin on the 7100 Build (The publically released RC version) for several months with zero issues.

hotShot
Using Windows Vista or Windows 7, the BBO WIN-client could have a problem with access rights to the BBO directory. Of cause that would not influence the Web-Client.
etha
Ok fixed it. I had two people logged into the laptop at once. Eventually I thought i would try without the other person and restarted and everything worked. The first login was an admin and that was where i was trying to run the programs so i had no priviledge problem. The second person was not admin but I am suprised them being logged into the laptop still would affect anything. Anyway first day with windows 7 so I may have missed something obvious like I always need to reboot when i install something new. Will post more info if it appears. jandrew
Installed Windows 7 on my Toshiba Laptop today (after deleting Vista, repartitioning the hard disk and re-formating). (I dont like to only upgrade over the previous OS.) BBO worked perfectly :) (except that my customised colour schemes have reverted to the default). Will pluck up the courage to upgrade the Desktop later. How do I retain my colour scheme? jandrew
fred
Will pluck up the courage to upgrade the Desktop later. How do I retain my colour scheme? Thanks to everyone who posted about Windows 7. I am not sure what you mean by "upgrade the Desktop", but the options you select in the BBO Windows client are saved in this file: X\profiles\BBO_Y.ini Where X is the directory that BBO resides in and Y is your BBO user ID. The directory that BBO resides in is something you decide on when you install the Windows client. The default is: c:\Bridge Base Online So if your BBO user ID is "fred", the complete path and if you use the default installation directory, the complete file path would be: c:\Bridge Base Online\profiles\BBO_fred.ini You can always make a copy of that file and move it to another BBO installation. I strongly suggest that you not be logged in to BBO when you do this. If you run into trouble please e-mail: support@bridgebase.com Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com
jandrew
Fred Thanks for the info about the **.ini file. "Upgrade the Desktop" meant that having installed Windows 7 onto the Laptop machine, I was plucking up the courage to do the same on the Desktop Machine (my main computer). jandrew
