Fluffy
This should maybe go in the BIL section, but I think some advanced players would fail to play this one correctly at the table, so might benefit from it. [hv=d=s&v=b&n=s63hj109854d763c92&w=sq9hq3da852cj8643]266|200|Scoring: MP(2NT)-ps-(3♦)-3♠(4♥)-ps-(ps)-ps[/hv] You lead ♠Q and partner plays an encouraging 8 while declarer plays the ♠5 I'd like experts to refrain from posting on this one for a while, but I am no-one to forbid them doing anything. olliebol
♦ace now followed by second ♠ to make sure partner plays a ♠ back and is not going to go play a minor. Topic isnt called partner needs help for nothing. ;)
Phil
♦ace now followed by second ♠ to make sure partner plays a ♠ back and is not going to go play a minor. Topic isnt called partner needs help for nothing. ;) Correct, but there's more to it than that. Partner should not be encouraging spades from KJ8xxx(x) and there's plenty of room for pard to hold the ♠AK. Sometimes the ♦A will drop an undertrick, but it nearly guarantees a set.
