Phil
Josh: Just because you think that you don't deserve the scorn you get from ordinary posters like Cascade, doesn't mean that you need to needle others like myself. Sorry if this offends youunnecessarily but I would be doing the BBFcommunity a disservice if I didn't mention this. Kindly refrain from using inflammatory remarks in the future. Sincerely, Phil

kenrexford
Jdonn, the message to the legislators in Californiaoffered by the esteemed Governor Swartzeneggarseems after review, on its face to be honorable to me, but his approach seems dumb. After all, when I analyze the legislative process, Inever will believe that our misplaced hope of gettingdecisions that make sense from lawmakers is expected. Perhaps the confused and embattled Governor ought toheed with the wisdom of a good leader some betterideas, that the ENDS of the work be worthy of his ink.Look not always at the first idea -- sometimes truth is in the process. hrothgar
Looking at the press release, I have a simple - and immediate – reaction. Are we sure that that the original press release issued by Schwarzenegger has the same set ofLine breaks? Alternatively, could the spacing have been changed by CNN? bid_em_up
Hopefully one dayI'll be able tolaugh at sucha silly attempt atraw humor.I'm not sure if one can really understand what is being said here. He should also have toldeveryone that how much he appreciated such fine members in the house and that of course, he could use more of their brilliantlogic indetermining how best to proceed. having said that, it isall well and good and makes mevery happy that everyone is now typing this way. to believe that theold way of typing waslovely is simply refusing to display the ability to think vertically. the very thought thathe could possibly be sendingeveryone a subliminal message is mind boggling. that he would have to send such a letter to hisown legislature is truly saddening. Ken Rexford is the only person whoshould be able to see the logic of this situation. his method of encoding hidden messages is something that weshould all aspire to be capable of. as usual, such brilliance is susceptible to misuse and should only be used sparingly. after all, our military needs tolearn a new secret code that obeys no sense of grammar. Lobowolf
I'm not a conspiracy theorist. At all. That being said, I have to say I'mmightily surprised at the 75% figure. After all, we're a fairly astute bunch.Maybe the early responders just don'tunderstand how far beyondstatistical mechanism this goes. "Eventually 1000 monkeys..." B.S.Deliberate? Absolutely. gwnn
Usually I wouldnot reply to this butall the nonsense in Lobowolf's replyneeded addressing!i know hemight have only adjusted his point to fitin jdonn's striden-t restrictions, perhaps even at the expense of correct spelling or,yes, even logical coherence --- it'sstill quite untrue that 75% is unimpressive.never mind thehypothesized monkeys whoexist with no other purpose thanattack unanimous polls on bbf. there alsor some people whodelight in voting the most improbable options for amusement or just tofind out the current standings. You make a good point. Each person has a different perspective as tohow he (or she) interprets data. Be that as it may, it's really anunusual sequence of lettersto appear totally at random. Somehow, given thetotality of circumstances,I can't quite attribute it toluck. I have to think others have takenleave of their senses if they think it's random. ArtK78
Evenutally this type ofnonsense becomes tiresomeor, worse still, it becomes very annoyinguntil someone comes up with a new idea whichgoes in an entirely different directionhighlighting the silliness of the whole concept. All we can hope for is that the Californialegislature comes back with an equally insultingresponse to Arnold's message which willequate his concealed message with otherattacks leveled at the legislature and they shoulddemand an apology which will, of course, notyield the requested response. matmat
Maybe it was just some stupid intern who reformatted the letter thatyou linked us to. Governor Schwarzenegger would never knowingly write a piece like this, but I can understand how some bored joe-schmoe in a dead end job would possibly enjoy rearranging the words of an actual letter to create such a coincidence. We should not be too surprised to hear a cry ouf outrage from the governator's opponentssoliciting a full inquiry into the nature of the letter and asking for heads to roll. EricK
Has anyone considered the possibility that this is anoutright fabrication? It seems to me more likely to beall made up, than it being like something out of thex-files.
