Jlall
Yes double here is support. I would just pass. If they had bid 1S or 2S I would have passed.

aguahombre
pass, and glad I didn't open 1NT, because pard would have transferred to hearts.
dellache
1- Yes this is still support. I would pass.2- I pass over 2♠. Over 1♠ it's not obvious, we may have game. But I really don't see a convenient bid. That's the problem with 4441. Let's pass.
jdonn
I pass in all given cases. Double is support.
Fluffy
I don't play support doubles here, but I use double to show clubs, something I do not have anyway. So pass.

(I suppose I agree, but I think the opps should be required to alert both their super-light off-shape doubles + non-forcing natural cue bid responses) Any way to get the lunatics? What hand types should north be reopening double with, vs. slightly more sane opps who bid spades? Should he have reopened on the actual auction? 3nt made at most tables though can be defeated double dummy. A few tables got too high in diamonds, but prob made 5d on a major lead. One table got way too high (6♦) but made it!
ArtK78
One table got way too high (6♦) but made it! I am sorry. There is a limit to what I am willing to believe. Making 6♦ goes past that limit.

Making 6♦ goes past that limit. You are not very imaginative then. It's very easy to see how one would make 6D.
gnasher
You are not very imaginative then. It's very easy to see how one would make 6D. That's why East needs a natural 2♣ cuebid, to make sure partner makes the right lead if they reach 6♦.
