maggieb
A club flit is not implied, but it is frequently the case that you have one. This is true whether or not you are a passed hand. 2N seems like a fine bid to me.
gwnn
2NT by process of elimination: 3♣ is a nothing bidI don't want to go over 3♣Double and pass are ridiculous
andy_h
Love 2NT. It almost always implies a fitting honour(s) for partner.
Fluffy
partner won't expect this big fit, but he knows you won't bid that way with singleton, even with low doubleton you would have to have big spade stopper such as AQ10x or KJ108
mich-b
If RHO would have passed , I would prefer 2♠ showing good hand with ♣ support , ending in 3NT if pd is maximum , or 3♣ if he is minimum. Now that I dont have this option , 2NT seems my best choice.
Phil
Yes I like 2N too since it gets my hand across nicely. I doubt I'll play it here. With my intermediates partner probably has six clubs and if he has five, he has extras.
