Private Club

Hi Ben,

I'm very interested to direct tourneys for players who like to play very fast.

In ideal case 12-15 minutes for a round of 3 boards.

So far I'm directing ** Very Quick and Nice" with 18 minutes per 3 boards.

To achieve my aim I would like to create a private club of players, who like that very fast game.

I found nowhere a hint, how do create a club.

I think you Ben or Uday can help me. Many thanks.

Al

I don't believe new private clubs are being started simply to host tournments. An alternative approach is to create a custom friends list that includes the names of all those players who you want to be able to join you tournment, and restrict the tournment to players on that list. The ONLY disadvantage to this approach is that you can not send club mail or club chat to all these people at once, like you can with a private club.

To set up a private club, in fact, you do have to contact support@bridgebase.com and state your case as why this is necessary, etc.

We have a problem right now in that most of the private/public

clubs are never used. This clutters up the lists and makes it

harder for people to find the clubs they are looking for.

Until we find a way to address this issue with software changes

there will be a moritorium on the creation of new clubs. This

has been in effect for about 2 months now.

Even when we lift the moritorium and allow new clubs to be

created, we will not create clubs purely for the purposes of

restricting tournament entries. There are other ways to

restrict entries to a given list of users. The purposes of the

clubs is to provide places for people to play.

Feel free to make suggestions about how we can improve

the club management aspect of the software, but chances are

we have thought about your ideas already. We have a pretty

good idea of what we want to do. It is now a matter of finding

the time to implement the changes we want...
