EDIT: just clarifying the opps bidding
billw55
1♦ - 1♥ - X - 1♠ 2♦ - p(?) - hmmm .. now probably 5♦
helene_t
I would go down in 5♦
billw55
I would go down in 5♦ or make, if ♠ is lead per partner's request. edit: hmm, maybe not, south probably has ♠QT for his call. Bummer.
manudude03
edit: hmm, maybe not, south probably has ♠QT for his call. Bummer. On a spade lead (with south having QT), you would make if north has 1 or 2 diamonds since you can take the ruffing finesse in spades and still have an entry in trumps, naturally diamonds break wrongly. Now bummer :)
Fluffy
I would support partner's spades since double= 4+♠, was 1♠ a cue?, do opponent's escape?

South will probably XX assuming it goes P-P over which North will bid 2C if forced.

Trinidad
I have always played support doubles below 2 of responder's suit. That also applies when the opponents are actually bidding responder's suit, such as after a negative double (like here) or in a T-Walsh sequence. skjaeran
We would start:1♦ (1♥) x (1♠) 4+♠x support (3♠)) After that it depends. I guess opps will bid clubs, and we'd infere our 3-3 ♥ fit, and stay out of game. But who knows.

If I understand manudude03's response it will go: 1♦-(1♥)-X-(1♠) X-(ps)-ps-(XX)ps-(2♣) I am not so sure. But I think that I'd go on tilt when opponents escape and will play the hopeless game. Maybe in NT.
kenrexford
I'm not sure what I'd do, but I know what my opponents would do. They'd probably blast 6♦ and my partner would not lead a heart. Then, they would make a mistake in spades by leading the Jack toward the K8x, dropping the stiff 10, and then find the hook of the 8. So, they'd take six diamonds, four spades, and two clubs, for 12 tricks, when diamond split 2-2.
dake50
With my 3xH losers I'm scared off 5D. But 4S on 3-4 vs. 1-4/0-5 split --that's an adventure I'd try.
