vuroth
Pass. What would you like to do after: 1♦ 1♠ P PX P ? :)

aguahombre
Pass. What would you like to do after: 1♦ 1♠ P PX P ? :DWell, with my great spade spots, and blind lead I am not thrilled at the one-level, but I would accept and try to defend --hoping this is better than what the rest of the field did. Maybe punting with a low spade lead is best.
Jlall
Whenever they bid your long suit and you don't have support for partner passing is a good option.
P_Marlowe
Pass, if it gets passed around to p, he should actwith shortage in their suit (*), maybe he will reopen with a X. (*) Some even would say, he is forced to act. With kind regardsMarlowe

andy_h
Pass. Defending isn't so bad too once in a while.
mtvesuvius
Pass... despite my bad spots, I think this is certainly good enough to defend, and if I can get partner to find a Diamond switch early in the hand, my spots may not matter much. The problem becomes a bit more interesting when after partner reopens, one of the opponents run to Hearts...
neilkaz
Another vote for passing.
olliebol
Well what happened at the table where i held this hand was that i was caught off guard by the spade overcall into thinking what to do.... The longer i took the less pass was attractive ( or so i thought ) due to ethical considerations making me bid a perverse negative double eventually. Later i looked at the hand again wondering if due to the bad sp spots this double actually had any merit so i posted it. Tx for the answers, this was indeed a no problem hand ,pass is clear, im convinced now. Bidding went 1diamond (1 sp) double (1nt) 3hearts pass pass pass for minus one.Partner had 6 good diamonds and 4 times the king of hearts. one sp 2 cl.
