kfay
Probably wouldn't have chose this title again but... had to redeem [hv=d=w&v=e&s=sjhj62dk64cj109432]133|100|Scoring: IMP(P)-1♦-(1♠)-P(2♦)-2♥-(2♠)-?[/hv]
655321
Prefer 2♦ last time.
Phil
At least you spelled competitive correctly. After mulling this over I like 4♥. 3♠ overstates the hand and 4♦ might miss hearts. 3♦ is a nothing bid.
Jlall
Agree with my first pass, would bid 4D now. I can't see this ever going all pass if partner is 5-6 anyways (they will bid with 10-11 spades, or partner will bid 4H even if they pass). I am assuming they will bid 4S and just preparing partner for that by letting him know we have a good hand for diamonds.
jdonn
4♦ seems like a good bid. I also agree with my first pass, I hate raising with fewer than 4 since partner misjudges later in the auction. I also see no real point to going to hearts now, partner is still allowed to be 4-6 or so anyway.
dake50
Partner really wanted to get his hearts into this auction. I have 3xH and S-single. 4H.
Codo
partner showed 5+ 4(+) but I would still like to buy the hand in 4 Heart. Unluckily, there is "no way" that they let us play it, so I try 4 diamond now.
gnasher
I'd have bid 2♦ on the round before. My partners expect that, so there's no reason for it to lead to a misjudgment. I'd bid 5♦ now. Partner's entered an auction where the opponents have shown strength, I've suggested a weak hand, if I do have any values I won't have a great fit for either of his suits, and we're likely to be outbid anyway. He should have a good hand. Under the circumstances, xx AK10x AQJxxx x or xxx AKQx AQJxx x wouldn't be too much to expect.
andy_h
Agree with the first pass and 4♦.

Perhaps misjudgment isn't the right word in that case, but I would still say poor-judgment. Even if he knows you raise with 3, he often wants to know whether you have 3 or 4 (or 5?) when deciding whether to compete to the 3 level or not. You may be right about 5♦ though. Your examples are convincing.
