anssibragge
I was subbed in a pairs tournament. Playing the second board then, suddenly in 13th trick everything vanishes and I get a message "You have been replaced". This was my 2nd board already, not the first in this subbed tournament. Here's a screenshot how it looks like to me: http://www.bragge.org/bridge/BBO/doing-ok.do So, what happened? Original guy got back? My partner did not like my safety play to get 4 major +1 a top? abe

inquiry
Hi Abe, You can always check for your self. Here is how. If you go to myhands site, you will find the tournment... copy the line that opens the result. If you do, you will get something like this. Sun_21:29_GMT_Pairs_Matchpoint_Host:BBSCG_Title:#334_Pairs_SERBIA&MONTENEGRO_ON_SUNDAY1~1087766964~334.lin 20-Jun-2004 18:09 6k Take that long number above, and change it to...1087766964~334, into334-1087766964- (be sure to include both hypens). Go to the myhand site, and use this as the "player" name. This will pull up all the boards played in that tournment. Now you can check to see what was happening. You played board 10 and 11 (in a 12 board event), and you were subbed out for the original person you subbed for. As a general rule, a director should ASK you once you sub if the original player can return. To dump you like htis without warning or discussion is unacceptible. I know there is a "Find your own sub" option, but I don't think it is active unless your parnter is experiencing connectivity problems (I could be wrong). But one thing for sure, someone screwed up throwing you out without so much as a thankyou, or a do you mind. This is disappointing, but I guess it happens, there were 49 tables, and it was going into the last board, so the director might have been hassled. uday
There are some situations where one might be subbed out unexpectedly. For instance: TD calls for a sub for player A bec. player A is stuck.Player A now unsticks...Some sub accepts the call.
