Partner rates to have a stidd club quite often, and i might be able to set up a club ruff even if he has xx. I dont think this feels like a hand to be passive on, i would guess that south has some pretty good diamonds to bid like this. there is a very good chance that declarer can simply draw trumps and cash enough diamonds to pitch his losers. Partner could neither muster a 1♥ or 1♠ bid over 1♦ so I am inclined to play him for the values to do so if he could so he should have a ♦ stack and a max of 3♠ or 3♥ consequently leading a ♥ or a ♠ is very likely to be helping declarer Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

OleBerg Posted October 17, 2009 Author Report Share Posted October 17, 2009 A little worrying that no one even mentions my lead at the table: ♠A Wanting to go for the "peasant-defense", cashing three tricks and a ruff, that was my choice. If I want to find partner in clubs, a view of the dummy would likely help me to figure out which club to choose. Furthermore, partner might encourage with the ♠K. (Leading K from AK helps here.) And lastly, should partner hold a first or second round round stopper in hearts, he should be able to figure my void out, at the time he gets in. If for no other reason, then that all other avenues of defense would be gone.
