1) 4S obv

2) I would never have just bid 3S, this hand is way too good. Now the question is does 4D slow slam interest or just say "I want to create a forcing pass in case they bid 5C." I think it's the latter, but my hand is so good I'm worth 5H along the way anyways. If it's the former then we have a slam force.

BTW passing with the intention of passing and pulling to 5H is not a good plan imo since you can't bid 6 necessarily if partner bids 5S, and then you've never shown your slam try.

1) I thought 4 was a transfer to 4. The main problem with pass IMO is partner will be so strapped that he can't make an X with a 12-14 hand that has a good shot at game.

2) Well at this stage I would just try to beat 5. Over 2NT and similar preempts IMO the LR hand has to just bid game - 4 that dumps the problem where it belongs - on partner :)

1. 4

2. Presuming 2N is unusual we play 3 is a constructive bid with , 3 is a constructive raise, so 3 is 5and 4, so I'd have put partner in a better place by doing that first up. Anybody's guess what's right now, if partner has spades and diamonds, this won't play well with all the diamonds wrong, but is that what he has ? If 4 is a good hand with a stiff A, slam is a real possibility, but if it's 6/4 and a nice hand, 5 could be too many.

Having available 3H to show 4-5 in the majors is too convenient --catering to this hand but not to most holdings vs. unusual NT.

I think most players' unusual vs unusual style involves bidding one minor to show lr+ in opener's major, and the other minor to show a Forcing bid in the other major. Thus, 3H would not show spade support, merely a competitive hand with heart length.

With the given holding, responder needed to decide whether to show an invite in spades or to just bid game in spades. The actual 3S bid did nothing to describe the holding. I hate trying to get out of a mess I created.
