Sadie3
I think that a convention card is the place to put all that kind of stuff. I like keeping my profile simple and just putting things like....sayc, 2/1, precision...ask for more. Actually, if I see a profile with too much detail, I kind of skip over things that I should ask about and later it bites me. I do like the option of being able to put some specific notes on others profile such as...likes suit preference on trump leads... or udca. Things to jog my memory about what this person likes to play. To me, filling out a convention card with a new partner is the best way to start out a new partnership and you cover all the little differences player have such as 4 way transfers and super accepts. babalu1997
But the convention card is not mine-- it is belongs to a partnership, so i cannot write a convention card for others to use. I need an area similar to the profile area. Some players write SAYC in ther profile and their subsequent bidding will have the markings of polish club or acol. Others state 2 over 1, but what i really need to know is what type of hand they open. the other day a partner opened 1 diamond with absolute crap, whne asked he said-- I was in third seat, had to open. system is not really so importants as i really want to avoid playing with people who open a 4-3-3-3 in thrid seat with 8 hcp because "they had to open", or vene those who open a 3 lervel premtp with 2 side aces. If this area which i am talking about were avaible, I could eliminate a lot of heart ache. In fact, i will not play with anyone that says rule of 15, stolen bid diamonds and 1 diamond shows 4 simply because I know i will not underatnd their bidding. fred
But the convention card is not mine-- it is belongs to a partnership, so i cannot write a convention card for others to use. The web-client contains a notion of a "favorite convention card". Each member can have exactly one of these and any web-client user can ask to see the favorite convention card of any member. I think this is a good concept, but it won't be very useful until people start using it (which won't happen until more people start using the web-client and then start discovering features like this). Making the "other" space in the profile bigger would be a lot more complicated than you might think. Probably that is not going to happen. It is more likely that we will find ways to extend the user profile in various ways. For example, maybe one day will create a facility whereby members can create their own web pages with additional information (and pictures and...) and include links to such web pages within user profiles. Tola18
...members can create their own web pages with additional information (and pictures and... I think this is an excellent suggestion, Fred! You can always have a clickable and copeable link to your own site - basic homepage or blog, where you do describe your favvo conventions and favvo gimmicks and favvo philosophy. But be sure to make your page is clear and easy to read: A pick up partner or opp doesnt have time nor patience for more than a glance or at most two. I have never understood why.

Fred, Good idea. What about a check box for 'BBO Basic' and 'BBO Advanced'? Select one and then be able to view it as needed ? This would also encourage unfamiliar partners to use a common system. 0 carbon
It would be nice if -- Profiles were searchable - eg, where are the Precision players?Profiles had a field for language(s) written/spoken------- even nicer if the s/w could compare CCs and suggest partners for you - like Match.com! tOM
