shevek
Siutplay says: With AJ87, low to 8 is 46% With AJ86, run 10, then finesse is 44% With AJ76, low to J is 37%
Fluffy
AJ76, ain't low to 10 exactly the same? I fail to see why low to the 8 is better than running the 10. Maybe when I wake up a bit more.

The ten only picks up one singleton, the 9 offside, whereas low towards the jack pick up any singleton honour onside (two splits).

You mean low towards the 8 - if an honor appears on the left, we go back to hand and play low towards the 8 unless LHO shows out.
Fluffy
doh I though that running the ten was picking doubleton 9, but it doesn't,
Jlall
AJ76, ain't low to 10 exactly the same? umm no. low to the ten you have to guess what to do on the next round, and you won't always guess right. For instance you cannot pick up KQx on left AND Hx on your right by playing low to the ten. You can pick up Hx on left and KQx on left by leading low to the jack however.
