What does this bidding sequence tell you.

Recommended Posts

The opponents are being nice today and have passed at every possible point.

O:Opener, R:Responder.

O:1NT(15-17) - R:2

O:2 - R:3 or 3

You have agreed before play to use Stayman, Jacoby w/ 2 minor signoff, and Texas. You don't play with this partner often and havn't discussed NT bidding past what I have mentioned.

As the Opener what do you think you partners 3 level minor tells you about his hand? Destribution? Points? Is this forcing (one round, game, slam invitational)?

For fun guess if I was the Opener or the Responder.

My best guess is natural and GF, could be either choice of games or slam interest at this stage. It probably won't be 5332 but could be only a 5 card with some shape. May or may not have a major as well.

I'd guess you are responder because if you were opener you would not have passed so there would be no story.
