cherdanno
1. Double2. 3♣ mixed raise - yeah just raising to the 3-level is lame but i have a lot of defense and maybe it's our deal in 3N.

nigel_k
1) X and pass if partner bids clubs. This has several ways to gain compared to the alternatives. 2) 4♦. I have some defence but not enough to be happy going slowly. 3NT for us is possible but I think it's unlikely.
andy_h
1) Double 2) 2♠/2NT/3♣, whichever one is the better(limit) raise.
655321
1) Double. 2) 2♣ cue raise.
effervesce
1) Close, but I X. The decent club honors make X reasonable for me.2) I bid whatever would be a limit raise in diamonds.
Jlall
I thought these were wtp: 1) X 2) 2C The only way I would not bid 2C on hand 2 is if I had the agreement that 2S showed a 4+ trump limit raise. This hand is way too good for a mixed raise or a preemptive raise!
MFA
1) X 2) 3NT.
gnasher
On the second deal, how likely is it that we make 3NT but not 5♦? Something like xxx Ax AQxxx Kxx is possible, except that RHO might have made a negative double with his weak 45xx. If we make partner 4252, that makes the bidding more likely, but also makes it more likely that they can make 4♥. If partner has a singleton heart, I'd prefer not to give them room to discuss the quality of their fit. I bid 5♦.
OleBerg
1) 2♦. Ugly, but best if opponents compete. 2) 5♦.

This hand is way too good for a mixed raise or a preemptive raise! Assuming we can still cue bid clubs in this auction, why wouldn't we have two cue bids to show limit and mixed? I would expect a good partner to figure this out defending t-walsh and variants. Agree with x and 2♠, but..... If I can bid 3N to show a "good raise" to 4m, I like that better. aguahombre
X plan to sit for 2♣yep. Anyone thinking of equal-level conversion, this aint the hand for that. Doesn't need to be said in A/E? Others get to read the forum, too.

Now I know what the auction was, I'd just show a 4-card limit raise, presumably with 2♠.
