helene_t
3♥ shows this hand. With an unknown p I would dbl, just in case 3♥ could be taken as a fitbid.
aguahombre
unfortunate agreement for OP re: fit bids. I wonder if anyone wants to figure out frequency of occurrence vs usefullness of the information vs other ways of bidding with a fit and hearts. Not trying to hijack, but it seems this hand is too tough if 3H is fit showing.
ONEferBRID
Good point on the fit bids.Make a Neg-DBL to show Hts... and then bid Hts.

peachy
This is a hand for negative Dbl and next round bid hearts at the lowest level.

P_Marlowe
X, followed by the cheapest possible heart bid. With kind regardsMarlowe
quiddity
At the table I doubled. Unfortunately the bidding was at 4S when it got back to me so I never had a chance to bid hearts, and afterwards, during the dinner break, I was surprised to find that almost everyone disagreed with the call. The general consensus was that double implies a balanced hand and that it was not worth misrepresenting the distribution to show such meager values. Most preferred to pass, hoping to bid hearts later. I'm not entirely convinced, but it did play a role in our subsequent misdefense of 4S.
