Finch
But a user who has set his profile incorrect will usually complain that the forum keeps an incorrect clock. Eventually he will learn that in order to get correct times on messages he must have his own profile correct. Well, you say that, but I never look at the times. I have no idea whether my time is set correctly. I rather suspect (since I've done nothing to set it) that it isn't. More annoying to me is that I've not found a way to veiw people's real names (assuming they have entereed them). There's at least one person I'm 90% sure I know who they are (and have therefore met in person)... but I can't check Matt Why not send them a message asking who they are? Finch
Convention cards give no clue as to what is the actual agreement. North claims to have a comprehensive set of system notes confirming his view, but not with him, unfortunately. (South should have called the director and corrected the misinformation at the end of the hand, but perhaps he was unsure his original view was correct.) The correct explanation was probably "no agreement" We happen to have a copy both of their comprehensive system notes and of their WBF convention card (rather than the smaller EBU one they were using at Brighton). The former says the bid was RKCB, the latter implies it was pre-emptive. We guess that North wrote one and South wrote the other, and ne'er the twain shall meet. campboy
- North would still be responding to RKCB. He has two key cards and the queen of trumps, and they normally play DOPI. Hence he would bid 4♠. Good point -- I had failed to spot that the double would have changed North's response. This does make it pretty unlikely that 5♠ would be bid. But I don't really care, and will probably not change my profile.
