9 card suit bid?

3D....what does it mean? In my partnerships it asks primarily for degree of diamond support. Opener will side que with support, bid 3S with stiff or void, and bid 3N with 2. And that will probably not get the info I want, but it is a start. Against that, maybe just bidding 5D will steal the hand.

2 P ??[/hv]

Saw this hand in Cayne vs somebody today. Maybe the right bid is obvious to y'all, but I wasn't quite sure what one should do with a 9 card suit and void in partner's long suit... :-)

Well IIRC Cayne uses 2NT as a feature ask and over 3 I would just bid 5 over 3 I would just pass over 3 I would try 5. 3 is ugly as 4 may be considered forcing.

I'll just bid 5 here as for all I know the opps are cold for 6 on a bad day for us, even if PD ends up on lead and leads a .

On a good day I make doubled.

2S (P) 5D

Playing with an expert, isn't this bid 6S if you don't have 2 fast S losers?

3D would be forcing, so what do you bid holding -
