I hope that those of you who are parents have internet filters to make sure that small children don't see that.

West North East South

 -     Pass  1    1NT

 Pass  2    Pass  2

 Pass  3NT   Pass  Pass

 Pass

The first board had me wondering, the next 2 confirmed my hunch that South had lost all interest in the game. This is from a STAR player in one of my tournaments.

There's just no getting away from these idiots.

Dealer: South Vul: All Scoring: IMP 92 K864 5 987654

West North East South

 -     -     -     Pass

 Pass  Pass  2    3

I am inclined to pass as we might have a good fit but have no problem with those using X to tell partner this is our probable best spot

Yes K did not add any extra information[or even a "all pass" or 3 passes at the end] so I looked for a problem

Assuming this player was needing great boards in order to place, I don't see anything outrageous in any of these actions. The 3 bid on the first board, for example, is a good bid against many opponents.

LOL. I don't want to be the partner of that guy. He seems to decide what to do from his side of the table, and doesn't want partner in on the secret. Maybe his moves work on occasion, but so what? Let him find someone who will just sit there and let him do his thing. It aint me, and it apparently aint jilly.

Agree with Arend.

While I wouldn't make any of these bids (in particular I don't like 6 even after partner has promised 5-6 in the black suits) I don't think that 3 is anywhere near as bad as some posters seem to think.

Hand 1) 3 vulnerable on that rubbish doesn't preempt enough and may get tagged for 1100 when there's no slam. It is a silly bid vs opps with brain waves. Even without methods opener can just rebid his suit at the 3 level or X if balanced or take a shot at 3nt with a couple stoppers.

Hand 2) I'd have splintered 4 with pard's hand. His jump to 6 after using 4sf is too optimistic.. why not probe a bit more ?

Hand 3) Hmm... he must think that aces count 5 hcp.

Do these people buy these stars at Wal Mart ?

Sorry and truely shocking coming from me but I've had a week of it! I didn't mean idiot star players per se, rather, over rated idiots in general.

I didn't realize Wal Mart had obtained exclusive rights on selling CrackerJacks :)
