How would you bid this?

Recommended Posts

I think, Pass is clear cut.

4D should have set diamonds as tumps and should also have shown

serious slam interest, so 5D was the weakes bid partner had av.

If you bid slam now, your intention was to bid slam after partner opened,

because at every turn your partner choose to make the weakes bid.

With kind regards

Marlowe

w vs r:

AK7

AQJ9xxxx

xx

It goes:

1 2

2 3

3 4

5 ???

I hate 3 unless it was forcing. But yes I bite the bullet and bid 6

!? unless it was forcing? You really thought someone will bid this NF 3 with *8* of them after partner opened?

I would pass 5 and thought it was an easy pass. Partner could have done something over 4 if he has any life but didn't. 5 could even be going down if partner has nothing in clubs...

Even if 3 is forcing what would 4 mean?

A picture jump. Spade support, great diamonds, no side controls.

On the actual hand -- pass. Partner doesn't have the King of diamonds and the Ace of clubs or the Ace and King of clubs.

actually, since 2S did not guarantee 6, 4S--not 4D should show that picture bid. However, the conclusion that opener does not have the ak of clubs or the king of diamonds and a club control is still absolute

I did not know that 2 denied three spades.

I have not enough imagination, 2 + 4 means we are playing diamonds, probably better than 3, but 3 is reasonable.

As it is now, partner could have KJ10xxxx Qx K Axx and we would have cold slam, but most likelly its that we lose 2 clubs or 1 diamond and 1 club.
