If you are asking if there are hands that I would compete to the 3 level opposite a 1/2 seat opening but would not over a 3rd seat opening, of course the answer is yes. OK, so do you think that's a winning matchpoint strategy? In particular, what compensaton do you get for the matchpoints you lose by undercompeting on the hands where opener has a normal opening bid?
