However, perhaps tis better to have loved and lost.
andy_h
West has a clear X of 2♠, especially given the light openings and raises these days.
effervesce
West should double 2♠. East could balance 3♥ over 2♠, but passing is fine vulnerable.
Hanoi5
East could overcall 2♥ and West should X 2♠.
Codo
13 HCPS, 2353 vul against not is a clear double for you? To reach the great 4/3 fit at the 3. level? Sorry, West may regret that he passed after the hand, but pass would be a no brainer for me. And East is a tad light to bid 2 HEart with no shape in the first round. And this shape makes a late entry after 2 Spade is passed around not convincing either. I had taken the + 50 sitting opposite myself. Fluffy
I don't find any bids obvious, but surelly double and reopening with 3 hearts are both reasonable. Pass is reasonable as well, but I hate passing.
gwnn
I think I'd double from west and bid 3h as east. the fact is, they just won't "catch" you. it's a myth that you go for numbers all the time if you don't pass all the time. nigel_k
I would overcall 2♥ as East with the good suit quality and would also balance with 3♥ even if I didn't overcall with a poorer suit e.g. AQxxx. It's a game of percentages not worst-case scenarios. Would not double with West if partner is an aggressive balancer. If partner is timid then West probably is best to double but it is close. Jlall
Bidding with the east hand is atrocious. Passing with the west hand is really bad.

peachy
I'm very surprised to see votes for the 2H overcall.
rduran1216
this has got to be theorhetical, there's no hand in life that could bid 1S, and have another respond 2S with the available HCP and shape
