mich-b
Was I asleep on the previous round of bidding?
pooltuna
[hv=d=n&v=b&s=sqjxxxhqxdxxcq10xx]133|100|Scoring: IMP1♠-3♣-ps-psdbl-ps-??[/hv] Should have bid 3♠ directly over 3♣. We can't tell now how strong partner really is as he made a protection X. Consquently the AK♠ are worth 1 trick max and so we need 2 other red suit winners just to set 1 which is just too close. At this stage I would bid 4♠ to compensate for partner's possible xtra strength.
Jlall
LOL??? 4S now but my initial pass is ludicrous.
olliebol
Four spades and two beers
Fluffy
if partner reopnend with just 11-12 HCP I will be the one blamed, but not for biddign 4♠ now, it is for passing the round before.
jillybean
You must have a guardian angel, second chance at 4♠
Phil
4♠ then or now looks clear. Not sure the reasoning on round 1 here.
mtvesuvius
LOL. 4♠ was obvious before, and guess what? It still is now!

rduran1216
I might dbl 3C at first opportunity to let my partner either bid his second suit (likely diamonds) or to bid 3H without a better call. Now over 3D or 3H, I will bid 3S to tell my partner that I may have fibbed out my points, but that I really have 5 spades, and now he can go to 4S if he'd like. It is likely he has 3 spades. Codo
4 ♠, I like the majors and the shape.
Fluffy
Hell 4♠ now again, I still expect partner with singleton club and AKAK.
mtvesuvius
Still 4♠, but not as much of a LOL :)
olliebol
try 4 ♠ too but liked the first problem better :(
gnasher
It's not clear how many spades to bid, so I'd avoid the problem by passing the double. That's likely to bring in 500.
Winstonm
Pretty clear-cut pass IMO. Partner should be something like 4531 or 3631 with a decent-to-good hand. Total tricks argues for 15 total tricks with an adjustment down for secondary values. What most are forgetting IMO is that with 4 clubs it will take a lot of trumps to ruff those losers - and partner only rates to have 3. Phil
What most are forgetting IMO is that with 4 clubs it will take a lot of trumps to ruff those losers - and partner only rates to have 3. We can't pitch them on partner's hearts? And where is RHO's entry if he has the expected AKJ-6th or 7th? Passing could work out very poorly if the opponents have a side diamond fit and if thats the case, pard will certainly have 4 spades or 6 hearts. Agree with 4♠. andy_h
Close between 4♠ and pass, as it boils down to the number of spades partner has. If he has 4531 or 4540 or 4620 I want to be in 4♠ but if he has 3541 or 3631 or 3550 I want to defend. My re-opening doubles need not have extras but just shape so I guess now's the time where I wish they'd contain extras. But then I lose on the countless 3♣X penalties so I don't!I think I will pass and take the money. If partner has extras then great it might go for 800 but 500 vs 620 isn't a big loss.
