Fluffy
1/ I'd lead passive and hope partner controls diamonds, low spade. 2/ Anythign can be right, but spades gives is one more trick when it is right so a spade.

Phil
1. A♣. I think a passive diamond is an illusion since it will be pickling pard's cards. 2. Low spade.

gnasher
On the first one, partner probably isn't 2-3 in the majors, because he might have raised hearts. 3-2 is possible, but it doesn't leave many spades for the opponents. I think partner's most likely shape is 2245. I'm not sure where that gets us. Either a trump or a club could still be right. Most of the time, though, a club lead will just mean that we ruff something that would have been a trick anyway on a passive lead. I'd lead a trump. OleBerg
A couple of small spades. Assuming partner is 12-14, taking the ace behind the strong hand seems rather panicky. I do not fear declarer running dummy's diamonds.
OleBerg
1. A♣. I think a passive diamond is an illusion since it will be pickling pard's cards. Thats probably why no one suggested it.
