gwnn
♣Q. RHO has a penalty pass of spades so spades is not the way we're beating it. As usual, I don't understand passive leads vs 3NT.
Fluffy
agree with csaba, low club and ♣A are the alternatives.
gnasher
Low club. ♣Q is correct if:- Clubs are divided 3-2-3, partner has no ♣10, and I have a heart entry.- Clubs are divided 3-2-3, partner has no ♣10, and LHO has ♣K. A low club is correct if:- They're 2-2-4 and partner has ♣K- They're 2-2-4 and partner has ♣10, together with two more tricks elsewhere- Dummy has a short ♣K That doesn't seem very close. rhm
♥J opponents have no ♥ fit and declarer has a penalty double of spades with the ♣ king. To beat this contract partner needs 2 entries or one entry and the ♣10(9) to push clubs through. Rainer Herrmann
gwnn
After posting I gave the matter further consideration and think 4th is better.
