olliebol
Hi all. I have a question related to the forum etiquette. Suppose you post a hand as a problem on the forums and you get some reactions on your post. Now for how long do you wait until you post the complete hand including the opps cards? i obviously understand that you have got to give people the oppurtunity to react on your post but is say three days the norm to do so? i dunno tx
Fluffy
There is no rules for this matter, some people do it the same day, some others do it a couple of weeks later, others just wait untill their favourite poster answers (And this can take forever). I like to wait enough so that all regulars who aren't on a trip can get a bite if they wish. Generally 2 or 3 days should be enough.
Cascade
Sometimes I will only post the other hand if asked. In a way it is often irrelevant what was opposite this one particular time. Other times it may not be a hand from actual play where there is no real hand opposite. That is I might have taken a real hand and manipulated it a little to create a problem. nigel_k
I'd prefer the other hand is not posted at all. It isn't really relevant to the problem and it tends to end the discussion early because people will be reluctant to suggest something that would have failed on the actual deal. The only reason to do so is if the actions taken by both hands are questionable and you're not sure which to post as the initial problem hand. Phil
I will usually wait 24 hours. I always try to post the hand afterward. While you are resulting if you think you should have done what was indicated on the actual hand, it still a good idea. What we have found is that quite frequently the recommended action didn't work out because of something else that happened at the table. It is almost always a learning experience for everyone.
