nsbch
I have opened the downloadable version of bridgebase with wine on ubuntu and the suits don't show up. If I make the hands smaller the suits show up but they don't show up with the bidding. Bridgebase technical support has sent me links for font downloads but after downloading them I wasn't able to instlall them on ubuntu. Any suggestions? kayin801
As an alternative, the browser version works (I think) on Ubuntu, so long as you're okay with using that. (I prefer the Windows client too, but when I'm using Ubuntu I settle for the web version)

Bob I think to install them you just copy the file symbol.ttf to the directory /usr/share/fonts/truetype/symbol .

Bob I thik symbol.ttf was added to latest development release of wine. You need to install 1.1.2X from winehq.org or from wine1.2 package from Karmic Koala. But I had some problems with build in browser freezing with the latest version when login to bbo. Workaround is to modify browser variable in bbover.ini. You can alternatively copy symbol.ttf to ~/.wine/driver_c/windows/fonts/
