Bridgebase + ubuntu

Recommended Posts

I have opened the downloadable version of bridgebase with wine on ubuntu and the suits don't show up. If I make the hands smaller the suits show up but they don't show up with the bidding. Bridgebase technical support has sent me links for font downloads but after downloading them I wasn't able to instlall them on ubuntu. Any suggestions? Bob

I think to install them you just copy the file symbol.ttf to the directory /usr/share/fonts/truetype/symbol .

I thik symbol.ttf was added to latest development release of wine. You need to install 1.1.2X from winehq.org or from wine1.2 package from Karmic Koala.

But I had some problems with build in browser freezing with the latest version when login to bbo. Workaround is to modify browser variable in bbover.ini.

You can alternatively copy symbol.ttf to ~/.wine/driver_c/windows/fonts/
