BudH
You are vulnerable, they are not, local Swiss team against very good opponents RHO opens a weak 2S and it's your turn in second seat holding 84AK762K96KT6 3H, Double, or pass? mich-b
Double. Looks (to me) a reasonable combination of being active (rather than passing), and safety (since it gives up options to find reasonable fit in 3 suits, rather than one). Phil
Double. This is very similar to one of Justin's hands a few weeks ago.
pooltuna
uncomfortable pass
Cascade
I don't mind any of the options. I tend to bid my five-card suits but AK7xx is not very robust against bad breaks.
ArtK78
Pass. Not good enough for a direct action over a 2♠ call. One less spade and one more of either minor, I would double, but I would be a dead minimum.
nigel_k
I bid 3♥ but am not certain it is better than double. Would not pass.
Fluffy
my sound style makes this a pass, but it is close to a double, I would doubel with pickup partner. Not 3♥ because ♥AKxxx is very good as a side suit playing in another strain, give me KQJxx and 3♥ it is.
Codo
I would never pass. I used to bid my hearts, but I learn to double with these hands.

skjaeran
I tend to act with this hand. I'm pretty sure double is theoretically the best call, but all my instincts say 3♥.
Winstonm
Pass, in tempo, with no regrets. There has to be some parameters on minimum hands that will take a 3-level action else the auction becomes a guessing game. This hand simply does not meet my minimum requirements. TimG
All FWIW. I make it about 15% that partner has exactly 3 hearts and a longest minor of 4 cards. I make it about 25% that partner has fewer than 3 hearts and a longest minor of 5+ cards. I make it about 17% that partner has exactly 3 hearts and at least 10 HCP (and when he does, there are at least 10 tricks in hearts about 62% of the time on a double dummy basis). I make it about 14% that partner has 4 or more spades.
MarkDean
I would pass. Second choice double.
