golfacer
I have noticed that in survivor tournaments (especially those with a large percentage of pairs cut) with matchpoint scoring the final scores seem to be inaccurate. It appears to be because the system adds each competitor's matchpoints from each board (not the percentage), which could result in boards from the 1st round counting for much more than boards from the last round. As a simple example for the way the scores are calculated now (I think), assume a two-board tournament with 51 pairs the first board and 11 pairs the second board. If a pair scores 100% the first board (50 points of a possible 50) and 50% the second board (5 points of 10), the final score will show as 91.67% (55 of 60) instead of 75% if the boards would count equally. The actual error would be the greatest in tournaments where the most pairs are cut throughout the tournament. IMP survivor tournaments don't have this type of error since each individual board is converted to an IMP score, and the individual scores are added to compile the standings.
